SuperDrug Hair Removal Cream

I might have been in the Square last week and gone a bit wild in the aul SuperDrug. As there are feck all SuperDrugs in Ireland I thought there was little point in doing a haul and instead I'm just going to review the things I got as I go along. This own brand sensitive formula hair removal cream for legs and body caught my eye as it was cheaper then my normal Veet hair removal cream and it held the promise of being sensitive. And we all know sensitive means its not going to burn the bits off you, now don't we?

This 100ml cream comes with a handy little spatula like yoke,just like the Veet ones do, so there was no scratching the head reading instructions for me. I knew how this worked and thought I was on the ball. I'll be honest, if I was really going to give this a test run I had to use it on the legs and the other bits to be able to write the review. Now, the legs had been shaved about 4/5 days ago so there was that sexy stubble, divine. The eh other bits? Well green peace was outside the bathroom door chanting in protest to not destroy the forest, so I had two different lengths to work with. (With images like that, I sometimes questions why people read my blog. Its just all about the TMI with me.) 

The cream got slapped on everything and I gave it a good 10 minutes to let the magic happen. The first thing I noticed was unlike other hair removal creams (and I have tried them all) there wasn't that horrible chemically smell you normally get. Instead it was creamy with lavender and a hint of chemical - not at all unpleasant. It also spread just as well as anything I've ever used and heres the major winning part for me, it didn't sting or hurt at all!

Now the legs were good, not like amazing 'here feel how soft I am, I'm going to hop into bed and let you touch them way', but it would do for a knee skimming dress kind of thing. The other bits however... Nope, it got about half off and I eventually had to turn to my Veet and repeat the entire process resulting with eh, well my sex was on fire. Man that Veet burns! 

Overall I think if I was using this every few days to get rid of stubble it would be the perfect product as it smells good and doesn't sting at all. But for a more eh, intense operation I'd be going for Veet or a razor to sort it out. The next thing on the list is going to be one of those at home waxing things once I decide to grow balls and buy one. Oh wouldn't that be a fun post to read! (brace yourselves!)

Big Boots Haul

You would think I spend my youth in Boots and I would like to say your right but sadly its not true at all. Le sigh, oh well! I went this time on a mission to get something to help with my hair as its recently gone like straw and also I wanted to find a few new things to help with my spots and breakouts. That and I needed one or two repurchase of some much loved make up. Whats a girl to do but go shopping!

Ugh I can't say one bad thing about Aussie if you paid me. And at 3 for €13 how could I say no? Almost out of shampoo, another bottle of conditioner to try help my poor hair and if that doesn't work then some extra love with my spray leave in conditioner might just do the trick! And all aimed at coloured hair to top it off, lovely stuff!

I went looking for a Garnier face wash for blemishes and spots after being recommended it on Twitter and reading about it on a blog post but do you think I could find it! So I settled on Neutongena that had an offer of any two for €7, now you couldn't go wrong there! I got a 3 in 1 cleansing lotion to help with spots and a spot treatment gel. I can't wait to see if they work or not, blog post up at some point.

Next I got the essentials of Veet hair removal cream, Nivea deodorant and some Boots own brand razors. Not the most exciting things in the world but we all need them!

I had a No7 voucher for €6.50 and I have had my eye on their rapid spot reduce treatment for ages so I couldn't pass up the offer! Only left me paying €6.45 which was brilliant. I can't wait to break this out and bathe in the stuff to see if it works at all! I'll report back once I have had a good test run of it.

I also was cheeky and got Vaseline spray and go body moisturiser that was reduced from €6.15 down to €4.15. Again, I have read reviews on it and wanted to try it for myself for ages now so this was perfect. 

Lastly I got a natural collection black eyeliner and seventeen pressed powder that I had run out of and really needed as I like my pale panda look. As you do like!

Review: Veet Hair Removal Cream

I'm sitting here after a rather sore experience. I am not a fan of of shaving my legs as I tend to catch myself with the razor all the time. So when I was in Boots the other day I picked up Veets Hair Removal Cream with aloe vera and vitamin e for sensitive skin for around €6.15. I can have quite sensitive skin so I thought this would be perfect for me, with the added bonus of aloe vera and vitamin e. There are loads of different creams in this range, you can get spray on creams, roll ons, strips and creams in pump form. It boasts to be 'proven to work on very short hair' and 'can take noticeably longer to grow back'.  The product itself is in a 100ml tube that also comes with a specially designed spatula in pink, which I thought was cute. The instructions tell you to apply evenly to your skin with the spatula. You leave it on for 5 minutes and then remove it with the spatula, then rinse the residue away.  

It specifies on their website that is for your legs, which you can see here. However, on the package it says its designed for use on legs, arms, underarms and bikini lines. Whatever about using it on yours legs I would not  recommend using it on more sensitive parts of your body. It has the most awful smell and irritated my skin so much I had to wash it off before the 5 minutes were up. OUCH!! 24 hours earlier I had tested the cream on a small patch of skin as it suggests, just to make sure it didn't react with me. There was no irritation or redness and the area was smooth after. But it seems that applying it all over my legs does not have the desired effect. I was left sore, red and covering myself in germolene. 

I can safely say I will not be repurchasing this product, instead sticking to the odd nick of a razor. Have you ever used any of Veets range before?
